2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is the Latest in Luxury Auto Technology;

Ford announced last week that the 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid was certified by the EPA as being the most fuel efficient luxury sedan in the United States. Although some older Used Fords have not been introduced with the latest green technology, GM models such as the Chevy Volt which will be sold later this year, will be strong competitors to Ford's upcoming hybrids. Most of Ford's new and upcoming models feature some type of fuel efficiency or alternative fuel technology. Ford's new models will have the latest developments from their fuel efficient technology research labs that they recently devoted $1 billion to. Ford's new technology includes but is not limited to the EcoBoost powertrain and the latest hybrid technology.

The 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is Ford's latest development in fuel efficient technology. The MKZ Hybrid is capable of 41 miles per gallon on the highway and 36 miles per gallon in the city. The next most fuel efficient model is the 2011 Lexus HS 250h which is 6 mph less efficient than the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The MKZ Hybrid also has space for one more passengar than the Lexus HS. The 2011 MKZ Hybrid is capable of reaching speeds of up to 47 mph on its electric motor alone. The car also features the latest in safety and luxury offerings from Ford.

Ford's 2.5 liter Atkinson-cycle I-4 engine is the major reason why the new Lincoln has performed so well with fuel efficiency. The engine was named in Ward's "10 Best Engines" and features the latest gasoline/electric hybrid technology. The engine is not only impressive for its fuel efficiency but its power. The hybrid is capable of 191 combined horsepower which is among the highest horsepower for hybrid engines available.
