Ford Still Performing Well in Europe!

Ford is still performing well in Europe as the overall European auto market is declining. Ford's competitor models can be found at a Salem Chevrolet dealer. Ford models such as the Fiesta, Transit, Mondeo, and Galaxy have been performing well in several European countries such as the UK, Denmark, Ireland, Turkey, Hungary, Spain and several other countries. Ford models can be found at a Ford Los Angeles dealership. Other European automakers like Volkswagen and BMW are looking to continue to compete with Ford in the vehicle markets that have been traditionally dominated by other brands. VW models in the United States can be found at a Peoria Volkswagen dealership.

Ford's sales are up 32 percent from 2009 in Spain and the company has the number 2 best selling vehicle in Europe: the Ford Fiesta. The Fiesta has been a monumental success in Europe, selling more than 764,000 models sine its release and 873,000 models have been sold throughout the world.

The European market's decline has not really slowed Ford down in Europe, and Ford will look to continue to expand its product line in Europe for 2010. The vice president of marketing and sales for Ford Europe said, "In the first six months of 2010, Ford customers in Europe continued to be attracted by the appeal of our strongest-ever product range, and we will build upon this success in the rest of the year as we bring to market even more exciting new products and customer-focussed technologies."

The weakened market is due to economic problems in several European countries. The European economy recovery plan is not working yet for several countries, so like the United States, the European consumer has a lowered confidence in the economy and as a result is not buying as much.

Ford is now a market leader in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, Hungary, and Turkey, and it has increased its share of 6 out of 19 European vehicle markets. It is the leading import brand in Italy for the first half of 2010 and it has higher sales in many other European countries for 2010 than it had in 2009.
