Flex vs Chevy Traverse

There are several different vehicle options out there for young families these days.  You can go to San Diego Toyota and get a fully loaded Sienna minivan, but it is going to be expensive and people hate the "soccer mom" stigma that goes along with minivans.  Some new alternatives include SUVs and crossovers, and your local Auto Dealer Warwick should have plenty for you to choose from.  The main appeal of the crossover class is that they are built on car platforms rather than truck platforms, so the driving experience is completely different.  Many people prefer crossovers from Boston Nissan because they give you the passenger capacity that you need as well as some cargo room.  Two great options we want to compare and contrast are the 2010 Ford Flex against the 2010 Chevy Traverse.

Both models have been on the market for the same amount of time, and both have soared in popularity.  The Flex can carry up to seven passengers while the Traverse can carry eight; both lose one passenger capacity if you go with the captain's chair option in the second row.  Many consumers report that the seats in the Flex are far more comfortable and spacious than in the Traverse, and that is likely because the wide boxy shape of the Flex allows for more room.  On the flip side, the Traverse does offer more cargo storage, but Ford responds to that saying that the box shape gives you more room higher in the vehicle, so you can get larger items in the car.

Both vehicles come in three trim levels, all of which come with a nice equipment list.  Some of the options for the Ford Flex that you won't find on the Traverse include the SYNC hands free system, a refrigeration unit in the second row, and the Vista Moonroof option so there are a total of four windows on the ceiling.  The most you will get with the Traverse is dual sunroofs.
