Ford Made $6.6 billion in 2010;

Ford has posted profit of $6.6 billion in 2010. Models such as the Ford Fusion and others have continued to sell well and can be purchased from GA Ford Dealership businesses and others. Ford has about 20,000 hourly workers in Michigan, and those workers will receive a $5,000 bonus. The bonus is two-thirds larger than Ford had agreed to with the UAW. Ford workers produce models that are sold at Ford Dealership Augusta and other dealerships throughout the country.

Ford models can be be serviced at Service Dealership Richmond among others. The UAW's president, Bob King said that it was important for members to know that the company was not obligated to offer the bonus. However, investors were not happy with the profit report as it was less than expected for 2010. Ford's stock as a result fell 13.4% on Friday and the price closed at $16.27. The profit was however the largest for Ford in over a decade. Ford lost $51 million in Europe due to the launch of models such as the Ford Explorer.

Raw materials cost rose which was one reason why the profit was less than expected. But, the company reduced overall debt by $14.5 billion for 2010 and gained market share in the United States. The company made money in every region as well. Ford said that it was the best year for the company since 1999. Ford is expected to make even more profit in 2011. The profit sharing checks will also help to improve the Michigan economy which has been suffering since the recession of 2008. Ford's fourth quarter profits were only half of what were expected by investors.

Ford workers have a little more to be excited about as negotiations between the UAW and Ford will begin this year. The good news of a high profit follows years of pay cuts, layoffs, and other forms of downsizing which Ford implemented in the middle of the 2000s decade.
