Mustang to Debut at NASCAR this Friday!

The Ford Mustang will debut in NASCAR at the Daytona International Speedway. The Mustang will be driven by four members of Roush Fenway Racing. The Mustang is an iconic sports car that is a core part of American heritage, but has never seen the tracks of NASCAR until this Fourth of July weekend. It seems that the debut during the Independence Day holiday is only fitting for such an important vehicle in American car history. Foreign vehicle models that are not driven in NASCAR can be browsed at Boston Infiniti and Jackson Honda or at a Peoria VW dealer.

The Mustang that will be driven at the Daytona Speedway is certainly not a stock model. It features several performance upgrades and alterations. But, the overall look of the body is designed to be like the Mustang. The owner of Roush Fenway Racing said, "When you look at the new Nationwide Ford Mustang, you see a Ford Mustang. You see its heritage, its body cues. You see a lot of things that excite you if you have been a part of the automotive history of watching the Mustang, or being a part of it as an enthusiast or owner of a Mustang.”"

The Nationwide Series vehicles are allowed to have variations in their bodies. The Sprint Cup Series has very rigid rules that prevent vehicles from having body variations. The new regulations allowed for the Mustang styled body to be added to the Roush Fenway vehicles.

The new Mustang will likely draw Mustang fans to watch to debut of the vehicle to see if any one of the four drivers win the race. The director of Ford North America Motorsports said that the Mustang's addition to the Nationwide Series is not only an attempt to get more exposure to the vehicle, but also draw more interest in NASCAR itself.

It may very well turn out that NASCAR will gain more fans after varying vehicle body models are introduced that allow for more of a fan base to develop around particular models.
