The latest Ford Taurus now has much stronger appeal and it is selling much higher than previous year models. Toyota's Avalon is one of the strongest competitors to the Taurus and now the Taurus is outselling the Avalon by $2,500 per car. In the first half of 2010, Taurus retail sales were up 154 percent over the first half of 2009 and incentives were even reduced by $1,600 per unit.
Even third-party investigations and studies have found the latest Taurus model to be best-in-class for a number of safety and technological features as well as its build and capabilities. The latest Taurus offers new features that have not been seen on previous version such as MyKey technology, Blind Spot Information System, cross-traffic alert, Easy Fuel which is a capless fuel filler, Ford Sync voice activated navigation system with SIRIUS travel link, and many other features.
The Ford Taurus ranks the highest in its market segment for initial vehicle quality. With some of these features and a higher demand, consumer perception of the model has tremendously improved and it will likely continue to improve over the next year while sales may continue to increase.
