The Fiesta and Frenemies!

The 2011 Ford Fiesta has been long time anticipated in the United States, especially after gaining so much popularity in the European markets.  These brand new cars hopefully won't need to visit a place like Sarasota Auto Body for a while, that would sure be upsetting for a new driver!  In fact, U.S. News and Rankings named the new Fiesta their number one vehicle for their category of small affordable cars.  But, this is a growing category and there are already 31 vehicles that the Fiesta and models from Nissan Providence had to compete against.  The interesting thing about this competitive class of cars is that many auto brands have more than one vehicle in the same class.  One example is that Volkswagen has both the Golf and Jetta to offer consumers at Peoria VW if they are in the market for something on the small side.

The Fiesta has a starting MSRP of $13,320 with the highest trim still only costing $17,120.  It gets great gas mileage, an estimated 37 mpg on the highway and 28 mpg around town.  So far, everyone who has seen this car falls in love and it is by far the new car to beat on the block.  However, the base model isn't handsomely loaded by any means, so opting for the higher trim is worth your money.  But the fun colors and quirky names will please any consumer; would you prefer Tuxedo Black, Lime Squeeze, or Yellow Blaze?  The interior passenger cabin is comfortable, obviously built with care and quality materials.  The ride is smooth and quiet, plus it is just plain old fun to drive!

Immediate competition comes from cars like the Honda Fit, Honda Civic, and Honda Civic Hybrid.  Hyundai also has their Elantra and newly redone Sonata as strong contenders for smaller cars.  Kia is targeting the youth market with the Kia Soul, and the Kia Forte has gained popularity.
