Wireless Safety Technology.

Ford is going above and beyond other auto makers in keeping their drivers safe.  Besides having excellent safety ratings time and time again, Ford engineers and researchers are looking to make vehicles with wireless communication systems to help drivers avoid crashes.  It has yet to be released if this technology in the making will be available on the line up featured at South Jersey Lincoln Mercury Dealers, but seeing as how all three brands are related, it would be more surprising if the safety technology wasn't made standard once it is finalized.  While Ford prices are comparably low, you may have to make a special trip to Special Auto Finance once this technology is actually up and running!

All this news is not to suggest that other vehicles on the market are not safe choices.  If you go to your local Volkswagen Dealer, the employees there will be sure to tell you how safe their vehicles are; same if you go to Subaru.  Ford wants to install wireless sensors that would allow vehicles to communicate with one another, and then for each vehicle to communicate with it's own components, so that drivers avoid collisions.  Ford is terming this whole segment of research, "Smart Intersection" project.  Side impact collisions are the ones being most targeted, and the brake system will be engaged by the wireless technology if the equipped vehicle detects another equipped vehicle is about to collide with them.  According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), side impact collisions make up 40% of all traffic accidents, and those happen more often than not in an intersection.

Ford is working on getting this technology up and running.  The U.S. Government is already working closely to make this technological vision a reality.  Plus, in order for this idea to actually work, all vehicles will have to conform to the wireless radio sensors.  Another main goal is to keep this whole endeavor somewhat cost effective.

Ford Technology Offers Safer Driving;

Texting while driving a model purchased during Nissan Frontier Deals is a dangerous activity that is proven to lead to more accidents and higher risks of serious collisions. However, many states have still not banned texting while driving or outright made it illegal. Driving a safe model that is sold at a Peoria Volkswagen dealer does not reduce the likelihood of an accident if one is engaging in unsafe activities like texting while driving a Chevrolet Chattanooga vehicle.

Ford Motor Co. has announced a plan to given drivers some alternatives to texting while driving in order to improve car safety and reduce accidents. The MyFordTouch technology that is being included in many new Ford models has a "Do Not Disturb" feature which allows drivers to block incoming calls or texts. There is also a content lock out feature that will encourage drivers to use voice controls rather than hand based methods of controlling mobile devices.

The new technology is called SYNC technology, and it is designed to reduce problems with drivers who are focusing more on texting or handling mobile devices while driving. Ford drivers can use the Do Not Disturb feature to keep their privacy while driving and allow them to focus on the road. Although many newer drivers have used communications devices like mobile phones to keep in touch with the world, more evidence is coming out about how dangerous it is to use mobile devices while driving, especially texting which requires much of the driver's attention.

Ford, recognizing the link between the popularity of mobile devices and driving has taken proactive steps to ensure that the company's vehicles have the latest safety features that fit well with the lifestyle of many drivers. With the new technology, drivers will be able to have conversations with friends using their mobile devices at the appropriate time.

2011 Ford Explorer Features Curve Control Saftey Measure.

The 2011 Ford Explorer has several major changes in an attempt by Ford to make the model more profitable and popular as it once was. GM will continue to offer their Chevy Equinox and other SUV models which can be serviced at a Jersey City Chevy Service. The previous year models of the Explorer had a massive negative publicity campaign after the vehicle had several rollovers throughout the country.

Many crossover SUVs have been considered to be safer that traditional models. Volkswagen's Touareg and Mercedes-Benz's GLK are crossover SUV models that can be found at Peoria Volkswagen or Bossier City Mercedes-Benz. However, Ford intends to include several safety features in the 2011 Explorer that will help it compete with crossovers and other more popular SUV models.

The 2011 Ford Explorer will feature "curve control" which works by quickly slowing the vehicle down if it is turned too abruptly. Also, if a driver is going too fast, the brakes will be applied in a manner that reduces speed quickly without causing a loss of control. The feature is mainly designed to prevent accidents in which SUVs enter curves such as on-ramps at too high of a speed with steering that is too sharp. These types of accidents account for a large percentage of SUV accidents.

The new feature will prevent up to 50,000 accidents per year that are the result of drivers taking too sharp of a turn. The feature works by combining driving steering input with the Ford AdvanceTrac sensor data. With this information, Curve Control can predict whether or not a driver is moving too quickly into a turn, and will adjust the speed of the vehicle by braking. The feature is expected to work in every type of condition. Ford intends to bring Curve Control to 90% of its trucks, vans, and SUVs by 2012.
